The Associated Press used FOIA to obtain a copy of the investigation of the Army Medical Command's inspector general (IG) into the suicide of Pfc. Jason Scheuerman in 2005. The IG report concluded that a medical command office supervisor who allowed an unlicensed psychologist without a doctoral degree to evaluate a potentially suicidal soldier did not violate military requirements that such assessments be conducted by a "doctoral level" health care provider.
