Summary:

Using data received from FOIA requests, the Center for Public Integrity reported that U.S. military aid to Pakistan increased from $9.1 million in the three years before Sept. 11, 2001, to $4.2 billion in the three years after the attacks. More than half of the post-Sept. 11 money came from Coalition Support Funds, which Congress does not closely monitor, the Center reported.
